Oona Lagercrantz 

Oona Lagercrantz founded English4Kids in 2004. She is from San Francisco, California and originally came to Sweden as an Exchange student at Lund University. She graduated with honors from University of California at Berkeley where she studied Interdisciplinary Studies, concentrating on International Business, Law and Education, and has a minor in Environmental Science and Policy Management. She has been teaching English part-time to children since 1994. Through the years, she has also worked in media, marketing, IT, and has been a pre-school teacher in International schools in Asia and in Sweden. While raising her two bilingual children, she saw how important it was to expose them to the English language from a young age and that inspiration led her to start English4Kids.

Emily Williams

Emily recently relocated to Stockholm from Chicago, Illinois. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and minored in Psychology. While at university, she spent a semester abroad in England studying British literature and theater. Emily previously taught English as a Second Language in Shizunai, Japan and in Pachacutec, Peru. She also has experience working with children with special needs. In addition to her passion for travel, she enjoys cooking and painting. She looks forward to drawing from her interests and breadth of experience to teach English in fun and creative ways. In addition to teaching, Emily is the Office Manager.

Sabrina Harris

Sabrina Harris was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado but she has lived and worked in New York City, Paris, Belgrade, Lund and Vilnius.  She graduated from Boston University in January 2011 with a degree in International Relations and French. Sabrina has worked as a nanny, an art teacher for children of all ages and as a tutor in Language Arts, French and life skills. Currently, Sabrina is studying International and Comparative Education in a master's program in Stockholm and is also learning Swedish. She loves to sing, play piano and teach children in a fun and productive way. 

Amy Boswood

Amy was born and raised In Devon, England. She has been living in Sweden since 2010. Amy graduated from Falmouth University with an honours degree in visual communication. Between 2005 and 2010 Amy worked as a family photographer in both the UK and Australia, and photographed thousands of families and trained and mentored the photographic team. During her time as a photographer, Amy developed fantastic communication skills with children of all ages. In her high school and university years, Amy worked closely with several families as a child caretaker. Since arriving in Sweden Amy has used her experience with children and her ability as a trainer to teach English in a fun and creative way.

Darrel Robinsson

Darrel was born and raised in Canada but has spent the last several years travelling and studying.  Darrel tutored extensively thoughout High School and University. He has also spent a lot of time playing and teaching ice hockey to younger children coming into the game as officials and players.  In 2005, he began travelling throughout Asia and the Pacific, and then transferred to the University of the Sunshine Coast, in Australia, where he completed a BA in International Relations, and minored in  Japanese and Italian.  After finishing his degree, Darrel moved to Stockholm with his Swedish girlfriend to complete a Master’s Degree in Development Studies at Uppsala University.

Aaron Levine

Aaron Levine was born and raised in Portland, Oregon to a Swedish mother and an American father. While in high school, he began tutoring in basic English and mathematics for children before attending Oberlin College Conservatory and earning his degree in Classical Performance Music. While studying, Aaron began to teach music to young students and organized a summer music trip for his American students to Panama. After gaining his first degree, Aaron moved to Montreal, Canada to earn his Masters in Music at McGill University. Aaron moved to Stockholm in 2008 and is currently studying Swedish, so he can attend a Swedish universtiy to attain another degree in Education.

Colleen Clayton 

Colleen was born and raised in Stockholm, of English-speaking parentage, giving her the opportunity to become completely bilingual. Colleen has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stockholm University where she studied Musicology, Theater and Art History. Teaching has always been a natural part of her life. She started as a gymnastics coach and progressed later into a theater teacher. She has been actively involved in theater production and instruction for children. Being bilingual, Colleen understands the importance of language and its cultural history. She thrives on motivating children to develop through fun and drama, which compels her to put her heart into teaching.

Siobhan Stewart

Siobhan Stewart is originally from Wilton, Connecticut. She grew up in the Middle East where she fell in love with the international lifestyle and working with children. After high school, she moved to Los Angeles and graduated with honors from Biola University, where she received a degree in print journalism. Post graduation, Siobhan spent a year in California teaching English, writing and math at a tutoring center. She has also worked for newspapers in California and Connecticut, as well as at the American Embassies in Muscat and Cairo. In 2010, Siobhan moved to Sweden and is excited to be working with children here.

Clare Barrett

Clare is an Australian living in Stockholm whilst she undertakes further study at the Karolinska Institute.  She has a background in psychology with a strong interest in child development and learning. She has extensive experience with children of all ages, having nannied and tutored her way through university.  She has also trained as a therapist for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders at Flinders University in South Australia. Clare is excited to be tutoring again, finding it very rewarding to work with children and see their enjoyment of the learning process.

Marzia Rango

Marzia was born and raised in Italy, and conceived in London. This is how her parents explain her innate passion and talent for the English language. She holds a Master’s degree in International economics, with a specialization in development economics. During her studies, she lived in Ireland as an exchange student. She has also studied in Paris to improve her French, and lived in Brussels,  where she worked at the European Parliament. While in Italy, Marzia was a professional volleyball player and also greatly enjoyed being a volleyball trainer for kids aged 6 to 11, organizing games, tournaments and group activities. She believes team sports have a major, positive impact on children’s personality and education. Since August 2010, she lives in Stockholm, where she is currently working as a business consultant, and planning to pursue graduate studies in economics. She is happy to be part of the dynamic ‘English for Kids’ team in Stockholm.

Claire Cauldwell

Claire was born and raised in Nottingham, England and has been living in Sweden since 2010, after living in the UK with her Swedish partner. Claire received a first class Bachelor of Arts degree in Textile Design from Nottingham Trent University in 2008. Whilst studying, Claire worked as a babysitter/tutor for families where she used her natural creativity to engage and teach children. For the past three years, Claire has been working as a freelance fashion and children’s wear print designer supplying designs to studios in Europe and the US.  As well as working as a designer, Claire also worked for Ofsted - her majesty’s office for standards in Education, Children’s services and skills in the UK where she became very inspired by the teachers who she assisted and learnt a great deal about educational standards and caring for children. Claire has a relaxed and fun approach and enjoys teaching English through painting, drawing and crafts. She is interested in how children learn, react and communicate through creativity and is interested in furthering her studies in teaching and child development.  Claire loves living in Sweden and is learning Swedish.

Iain Denny 

Denny has just come to Stockholm from the UK to study for his Master’s degree in English Literature.  He is originally from Nottingham but has lived in Nigeria, Indonesia and Switzerland and is really enjoying being in Sweden!  Denny has worked, among other things, as a breakdance instructor and a film editor, but his first love is the English language and for the last two years he has been teaching English to foreign students in Bournemouth, UK.  He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film & Literature and in his classes he loves to get kids writing and filming their own movies (although he thinks even grammar can be fun!).  He also holds an internationally recognized CELTA qualification for English language teaching.

Amanda King

Amanda King was born and raised in Wollongong Australia. Whilst completing her BA degree in Popular Music and Performance, she lived in both Sydney and Melbourne.  Amanda began teaching singing and performance to young children already in high school. She then worked at an Entertainment and Performance Company where she held individual and group lessons with young children, teenagers and adults. She has also assisted in producing musical theatre productions involving young drama students. Amanda approaches teaching with a fun and relaxed manner and is constantly inspired by the joy of working with kids. Amanda moved to Sweden in May 2009 and has plans to pursue another degree in Education. She is also interested in furthering her studies in the field of Music Therapy.

Jessica Carlson

Jessica recently moved to Stockholm from Cleveland, Ohio in July of 2011.  She has a Bachelors degree in psychology from Cleveland State University and a Masters degree in speech-language pathology from Kent State University.  She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association to provide speech therapy services in the United States.  She specializes in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and has a strong background in behavior management.  She also has experience working with childhood speech and language disorders in the schools, rehabilitation of individuals who have suffered from traumatic brain injury and stroke, and accent modification training. 

Emily Simpson

Emily was born and raised in the Midlands in England and has recently relocated to Stockholm from London. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Leicester in 2009 and has since been travelling around the world and working as a content writer for Skype. She was part of a local initiative to teach children to read in the UK and has tutored and babysat throughout school and university. She loves reading and making up stories and is currently writing a children’s book!  

 

Gothenburg - Lydia Spencer Smith

Lydia was born and raised on the South Coast of England. She has now been living in Sweden for two years raising her one year old bilingual daughter. She studied Fine Art at Bath Spa University College, England and graduated with Honours. Lydia pursued her passion for water sports as a wakeboarder, travelling, coaching and training in The USA over the winters. Lydia specialized in coaching children and women, and through this she discovered her love of working with children, helping them to learn and develop their confidence.

Gothenburg - Liana Small

Liana Small is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and moved to Sweden in 2010. She received her Bachelor's degree from San Francisco State University where she studied French Language and Literature as well as Journalism. She also spent a year in the South of France studying French Language and European History at the Université d'Aix-Marseille III. Coming from a family of teachers, education has always been a passion for Liana. Her experience includes serving as a tutor for the American organization 826 National, a nonprofit tutoring, writing, and publishing organization that assists students ages six to eighteen with their expository writing skills, teaching English at the primary level in Lille, France through a fellowship with the French Ministry of Education and working in Education Development and Exchanges at the Institute of International Education in San Francisco. Liana is so excited to continue teaching here in Sweden while she pursues her Masters degree in Global Studies and is thrilled to be a part of the English4Kids team.

Gothenburg - Kate Bostock 

Kate is originally from Brighton on the South Coast of England, but in 2011 she moved to Sweden for love and is happily expecting her first child! She has an honours degree in Fashion, Media and Promotion from Brighton University and after years of working in the Fashion Industry fell into teaching when she assisted her sister-in-law in her reception class in England. Teaching was the most fun she'd ever had, and the most rewarding work she had ever done. Kate started training to become a teaching assistant straight away and hasn't looked back since. She also works in a bilingual Dagis where she teaches 2-3 year olds and loves laughing with the children all day. She is excited to join the English4Kids team! 

Gothenburg - Liz Noakes

Liz is originally from Windsor in the UK but spent most of her adult life living in Leeds or abroad. She has a university degree in Urban Estate management and a Post Graduate certificate in Catering Management, however her real passion lies in travel and outdoor pursuits. As a result, she is a qualified International Mountain Leader. Liz has travelled and trekked around the world, working with groups of adults and young people on expeditions in numerous countries. She moved to Gothenburg in 2008, having met a Swedish man in Nepal! In between trekking and travelling, she has gained a TEFL qualification and has taught children and adults English, in the UK and in Thailand. She is now excited to resume teaching kids here in Sweden.

Gothenburg - Eliza Cole 

Eliza hails from Austin, Texas, and moved to Gothenburg in June 2011. She received her BBA in Marketing and International Business from the Red McComb's School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin in May 2011. During her time at the University of Texas, she completed three semesters abroad at Copenhagen Business School, speaks basic Danish, and has worked in Copenhagen every summer since 2007.  She has also lived and studied abroad in Oxford, England, Paris, France, and Sydney, Australia and enjoys continuing her travels. She has experience teaching children through a university course in Children's Literature. In her spare time, she enjoys attending music festivals, traveling, dancing, and learning Swedish. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science degree in Marketing and Consumption at the University of Gothenburg Handelshogskolan, and is excited to bring some Southern charm to the English4Kids team. 

Gothenburg - Natalie Hooper

Natalie was born and raised in Roseburg, Oregon and has recently relocated to Sweden to live with her Swedish boyfriend in January 2012. She earned a Bachelors degree from Oregon State University in Business Administration focusing on Finance and International Business. In addition, she acquired a double minor in merchandising management and communications. While studying, Natalie also played volleyball for her university where she became involved in teaching volleyball skills to young kids aged 6-12. She has seen the positive impact team sports can have on children's personal and social development, and really enjoys working with kids to improve self confidence. She has previously lived, studied and worked in Hong Kong and London and has gained experience in investment banking and sales. Natalie is looking forward to drawing from her experiences to teach children English in new and exciting ways. She is currently learning Swedish and is happy to be joining the English4Kids team.

Gothenburg - Linda Silverman

Linda is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Sweden in August of 2010. She is half Swedish and enjoys embracing other cultures. Linda has had lots of experience with children in America and was also an Au Pair in Stockholm for some time. In her spare time, Linda enjoys traveling, painting, outdoor activities, and going on adventures! She is excited to join the English4kids team and to explore the joys of learning a new language with your child.
